When I first stepped into Walking on Sunshine, I felt like I was transported into another world. They sure put in effort to make sure that the whole place felt like a lovely nature setting, but with just one difference – air conditioning, as this cafe is situated in a mall, along Orchard Road no less!

The concept of this place is kind of a garden salon and cafe, where one can go to do their hair or pamper themselves with a manicure or pedicure after a day of shopping. They even serve their patrons some complimentary food and beverages from the cafe, it seems – which is a nice touch.

But anyway more on the cafe part, which is the part I patronized, around September last year. Besides the soothing and aesthetically pleasing ambience which I liked, I thought that the dishes they served were really good too.

I had the Crab & Kimchi Pancake (S$20.50++) and thoroughly enjoyed the interesting mix of creamy poached egg and sauce with the crispy slab of sweet and spicy pancake. The paste at the side was a little less memorable, but overall the various components of the dish worked well together in my opinion.

My friends also really seemed to enjoy their other egg-y brunch items, and we definitely liked what we had ordered to share for dessert.

Which was their signature Soufflé Pancake (S$20.50++), a fluffly delight that was soft to the touch and complemented very nicely with a generous topping of vanilla cream, mixed fruits and nuts.

It was tremendously delicious and not too sweet – I loved the soft airy pancake and the smooth, tasty cream.

Walking On Sunshine also offers a variety of refreshing looking beverages, and looks like it’d be a marvellous place to sit down for a solo coffee or tea break or a catch up with friends.

The food menu is also quite extensive with a good variety of curious sounding fusion items – I definitely recommend it and would like to go back again sometime to try more of their food and drinks!
