Since I heard about this gourmet burger bistro in Singapore set up by Bruno Menard, a three Michelin starred chef Bruno Menard in late 2012, I’ve been meaning to pay it a visit but somehow never got the chance.

Finally popped by for some burgers and truffle fries recently (with a Palate discount yay) and quite liked what I had.

Was kind of hungry so didn’t take that many photos though oops!

We started dinner off with starters of French Onion Soup (S$8) and Escargoes (S$16), which were both pretty good.

I liked that the pieces of bread in the soup were toasted – the crunchiness went well with the rich, gooey cheese and flavourful soup.

The escargoes were executed decently, the usual sort you can find at French restaurants though, nothing special.

The escargots were pretty much 'just okay'

I liked The ‘B’ Burger (S$19) which was done to a beautiful pink medium rare (was slightly miffed that they didn’t ask me for preferred doneness but asked other people though haha).

The patty was thick and juicy at the start but got a little dry towards the end, but I enjoyed it nevertheless. Also liked the slight toast on the fluffy bun.

Z thought his The 3 Little Pigs burger (S$23) was rather run-of-the-mill.

Amd while it didn’t quite blow me away, I thought the use of beetroot and a tangy slaw was quite clever to balance the strong taste of the three types of pork in the burger.

For dessert we tried their Hot Caramel Lava Cake (S$15). Which was enjoyable, but seemed to be lacking that little something.

The warm gooey caramel inside was rich and delicious, together with the cake, sweet and salty ice cream, and crumbly waffle bits, was a good end to the meal. I wished the cake was a bit moister and softer though.

Not a bad place to get a good burger, provided you want one that’s a bit more ‘atas’ than usual (it’s not quite the huge, dripping with cheese and stuffed with tons of works sort of American burger)!

Went dancing after nicely stuffed with burger, truffle fries and dessert! 🙂
