Finally, a travel related food post! Visited a few cities in Europe in October last year, and on our last day of the trip, we made a stop for breaktast at The Modern Pantry in London before our flight back.

It was around 9am on a weekday morning, and fairly quiet – I suppose the work crowd would have already finished their breakfast, had they chosen to have it there.
The small groups of people in the cosy casual restaurant at that time seemed to be people having work meetings or just chilling out.

The coffee was decent – think functional. I liked the food, and that there were many gluten-free options on the menu.

We opted to share the Two Scrambled Eggs and Toast with Smoked Streaky Bacon, Slow-roast Vine Ripened Tomatoes, Buttered Mushrooms (£8.80) and the Sugar Cured New Caledonian Prawn Omelette, Green Chilli, Spring Onions, Coriander, Smoked Chilli Sambal with Toast (£9.20).

The latter also gave the option of having the eggs fried or poached and with pan-fried haloumi, spinach, slow-roast vine ripened tomatoes at the same price, or with grilled chorizo, caramelised plantain fritters, slow-roast vine ripened tomatoes (at £9.00).

Eggs were creamy and tasty, mushroom was juicy and flavourful – overall the food was rather delicious. And I absolutely loved the homemade jams with the yummy, crunchy buttered toast.
The smoked sambal was very reminiscent of home and went well with the prawn omelette.

Nice place to chill out at, with fresh-tasting and reasonably priced food.
